Non-surgical rhinoplasty or “Liquid Nose Job” is a medical procedure in which injectable fillers, most commonly hyaluronic acid ones like Restylane and Juvederm or calcium hydroxyapatite (Radiesse), are used to alter and shape a person’s nose without invasive surgery. The advantage of hyaluronic acid injections is that the procedure can be reversed (this is done with injection of hyaluronidase).
The non-surgical rhinoplasty procedure can be safely performed in a treatment room in about 20-30 minutes by Dr. Jonathan Sykes. Please call the office for more information and to schedule an appointment.
Understanding the aging process is a prerequisite to achieve a natural rejuvenated facial appearance. Past theories explained the aging process as the consequence of soft tissue descent. Surgical techniques therefore emphasized tissue excision and lifting of facial features.
However, the process of aging is the result of subcutaneous loss of volume, rather than just a tissue descent. Due to this surgeons are emphasizing tissue augmentation in order to achieve a more natural, rejuvenated appearance in facial rejuvenation patients. Achieving volume enhancement of the face can be performed with either autologous fat transfer, or with off-the-shelf fillers.
Fat Transfer/Fat Grafting to the face is the injection of fat to the facial area. Fat transfer of viable fat cells can augment any area where volume depletion has occurred. The procedure consists of fat harvesting from an area of of the body such as the abdomen or outer hip, and concentration the fat cells for transplantation. The fat cells are then injected into the area of volume depletion such as the nasolabial folds and cheeks. This allows the practitioner to sculpt the face and augment the aged regions. The procedure can be performed under local or general anesthesia, and can be an adjunct to other lifting procedures such as facelifting. This provides natural facial enhancement.
